On board the winner of the 13-14 Mai series, Team NED 345, something unclear had happened. It resulted in an explanation of Reinier Wissenraet from which could be concluded that Marc and Pim were pushing Reinier to an even higher level of performance. Hence Reiniers observation: why….??? We did win the series of this weekend didn’t we ?
Klaas Ruigewaard, Dutch Dragon Association President, was very proud that his protegees of the Alkmaar fleet were third during the series, performing better on an increasing scale.
the Young team NED 397 third overall
30 April 2017
The 29th of April was a relaxed day in Muiden for the 17 teams sailing for the Muiderslotseries. No wind at all was forcasted untill late in the afternoon. After a delay untill 14.00 hrs the RC decided to cancel racing for the day.
For Sunday 30 April a kind of Mistral was forcasted in Holland. Warm continental air from the south-east meeting the cool air from the Northsea, creating strong and gusty winds between 20 – 30 kts. With Muiden at the windward side of the IJssemeer rather flat water was part of the game. Racing like being in the Golfe de Saint-Tropez, however with the skyline of Amsterdam in view on the sometines surfing down wind legs. It was wet, fresh, nice air temps but great racing.
The NED 397 even took a video on the down wind towards the startline, showing the fun on board and showing NED 1 abeam. (to be seen at Facebook Nederlandse Drakenclub, via the link on this homepage)
Several teams called it a day after race 1, some teams raced 2 matches, while the die hards ( BEL 80, NED 1, NED 300, NED 390, NED 397 , NED 404, NED 422 and NED 423) battled untill the end of the afternoon.
Klaas Ruigewaard (NED 390) sailed with his gib, resulting in a win in the final race when the wind was at its strongest. Well done Klaas, Imke and Erik.
NED 422 is now leading the score for the Muiderslot Trophy and the ‘Grote Prijs van de stad Enkhuizen’. NED 300 2nd and BEL 80 rd.
The next serie will be sailed 13-14 Mai from Muiden, with a tune up on Thursday 11 May 19:30 start in front of the Clubhouse of the RNLYC.
